Aftercare + Nourishment for Releasing Shame in the Body

Shame is a part of our lived experiences. It's often driven by something outside of us like guilt that transforms into a sense of ownership that drives our behaviors and can dictate how we show up in the world.

In order for us to find new ways of existing, we first must commit to allowing all the parts of ourselves to take up space with permission, grace, and curiosity. We welcome this with courage and patience. And we can find ways to deeply embody this by creating new connections that rewrite the stories that make us feel shame in our bodies, around our sexuality, and in connectivity to our identities.

There isn't a "quick fix" to releasing shame in the body, but there are ways that we can over time transform it into something different and ideally in this difference, we become more of our whole selves.

AFTERCARE
Activities, prompts + information to explore after the class

After class - Take good care of yourself + one another practices:

Set a timer for 3, 5, 10, or 20 minutes and grab something to journal with. You can use one or a few of the prompts below to help you open up towards exploring how SHAME shows up in your life. Try looking at it from as neutral of a space as possible - allowing yourself to answer the questions honesty and then explore the answers with curiosity over judgement. How can shame support you? How is it hindering you? What are you ready to confront, expand, release + rewrite.

Join us Monday, 10/23 at 6pm PT for a live online class and guided embodied experience to support you with moving through and renaming shame and creating space to embody more authentic expressions through your body, sexuality, connections, pleasure + play.

Journaling prompts:

• What stories came up for me in relation to shame?
• How can I create space to drop into my body and minimize the ways I focus on the stories that exist?
• What parts of my body, sexuality, and identity can I explore more in order to expand the ways I feel confident and authentic in the ways I am showing up in the world?
